Many people believe Indivisible is only for left-leaning folks. However, Indivisible Newaygo County is locally focused and driven. We find a lot of connection and overlap between our goals and the goals of some conservative or Republican voters. Things being what they are, we feel our differences are a lot less important than the values and goals we share.

 

Unfortunately, the current administration no longer upholds many of the values most Americans - of either side of the aisle - hold dear.

 

The "Big Beautiful Bill" added trillions to the National Debt - hardly what fiscal conservatives wanted. Meanwhile, the American government the Founding Fathers planned is being undermined as more power is handed to the Executive Branch. The President acting more like a king than a servant of the people. Congress and our representatives appear weak in the face of this takeover, and aren't acting in the best interests of families or small business owners. Erratic and inconsistent policy changes threaten The United States' reputation worldwide, and explosive new tariffs raise prices for everyone.

 

Fortunately, we can find a lot of common ground between party lines. Everyone wants to live in a safe place, have stable work and be able to feed their families. We all value national security and liberty even if we disagree about how to strengthen our rights and freedoms.

 

Working together on specific local issues is our best way to make positive change.  We don't have to agree on everything in order to accomplish our shared goals. What matters most is results, not rhetoric.
