Indivisible Newaygo County
As a non-partisan group dedicated to democracy, we know strengthening our rights, improving access to freedoms, and creating long-term positive change requires us to start at home. That's why we've been dedicated to serving Newaygo County and surrounding areas since our start.

The current administration's policies have drastically cut food aid while their foolish tariff and trade war antics have raised prices across almost all sectors. You've noticed higher grocery prices, especially on essentials - precisely the issue the president promised to address during his 2024 campaign!
Sadly, many Newaygo County families are now going hungry due to cruel cuts to programs like WIC and SNAP, which OVER 40% of families in our area rely on. We don't believe in letting kids and working families go hungry, which is why we started our Victory Garden Initiative. Led by Doug Bonner and Elizabeth Pitzer, with support from Seed Savers, we were able to distribute hundreds of tomato plants and thousands of dollars worth of vegetable seeds for Summer 2025. A small home garden can save families $600 a year on grocery bills, which is a lifesaving amount for many in Newaygo County. With a single tomato plant often yielding $70-100 of tomatoes, this can make a big difference between having enough to feed the family or going hungry.
Feeding Newaygo County

The government is currently shut down as Democrats scramble to fund ACA, which provides health care to 15% of American families. For the first time, this shut-down has been allowed to cancel crucial programs like SNAP, meaning many families and senior citizens will go hungry. The current administration has a contingency fund that could keep SNAP funded until decisions are made, but they refuse to authorize it. To help, throughout October 2025 our volunteers went into the fields to pick crops, which were donated to Benny's House and other charities. Thanks to the generosity of local farms, we were able to get end of season vegetables to needy workers and children.

Supporting Our Migrant Farm Workers & Immigrants
In this time of unprecedented government overreach, troops on the streets being deployed against American citizens, and mass disappearances, we've continually raised our voices in support of migrant workers and immigrants of all backgrounds.
This summer, our 1st Annual Labor Day event featured speakers from the ACLU and Migrant Legal Aid, who spoke about the difficulties both documented and undocumented immigrants face in our nation. We learned about the tremendously hard work they do and why the addition of immigrants adds vibrancy, productivity, and economic stability to the country.
With this event, we were able to raise over $2,000 for Migrant Legal Aid. We also received many boxes of donations that were passed on to organizations that serve Newaygo County's migrant workers. We are very grateful to Elvira Hernandez and Florencia Colella for their impassioned, fact-filled speeches! We also appreciate George Heartwell for serving as our MC, and to Our Feathered Friends (band) for providing exciting and nostalgic music.

Saying NO KINGS & Protesting Dangerous Administration Policies
We refuse to be silent. We've been out in the streets drawing attention to harmful government policies that hurt Newaygo County residents. From foolish tariffs that have decimated crop prices for American farmers to slashing of social benefits working families and children rely on, this administration seems to be at war with ordinary Americans. Meanwhile, the president is everyday stampeding through our system of checks and balances, issuing decrees and sneering at our Constitution. We have continually raised our voices to say this isn't acceptable in the land of the free. We'll continue calling for leadership and representatives to hold the administration to the law and demand accountability for all actions taken.

The current administration is playing games and protecting pedophiles in the process. From denying access to crucial information about notorious child abuser Jeffery Epstein and his contacts to demanding helicopters loudly patrol where assault victims are speaking, this administration has does everything in its power to harm survivors and stand arm-in-arm with victimizers.
We're not okay with that. We've taken to the streets to demand the full release of all Epstein "files", including the names and details of alleged perpetrators. We believe the victims and we know covering up child abuse does nothing to keep kids safe. As part of our efforts, we also collected clothes and toiletries for local domestic and sexual violence shelters and organizations. We continue to advocate for transparency and justice.
